What if you're a cockroach?

What if you woke up tomorrow as a cockroach? An interesting discussion with our class about expounding an idea. I chose cockroach because that is the least possible pest i want to be, least because no one want to be an insect, least because they are gross. Cockroaches are very interesting species, we do have around 30 species of cockroaches and only 4 of them are considered as pest. Cockroaches are an ancient group, dating back at least as far as the Carboniferous period or before dinosaur era, some 320 million years ago.

I chose cockroach because they can't die from a nuclear bomb. I read some article about their resistant about nuclear explosion or survival rate from exposure in radiation. They typically can live and survive but in certain degree or level of exposure. Radiation gradually destroys organism on the cellular level, that is why humans are very vulnerable. On the other hand, cockroaches molt about once a week at most, which make radiation to attack cells less effective. Cockroaches can survive the amount of radiation at ground zero of a nuclear explosion, though of course, not the explosion itself if they were right next to it.

I think if given a chance to answer the same question, i think i'll choose cockroach again. We considered them as pest but in ecological term, they served as food in food web. Cockroaches balance the community, and the cycle, aside as being prey they feed on decaying organic matter that produce nitrogen which get into the soil and is used by plants, extinction of cockroaches would have a big impact on forest health and affect all the species indirectly.

We used to think, we are senseless, we don't live with a purpose, so sometimes we incorporate ourselves as a pest. Cockroaches lived for about hundred years and considered as ancient, they don't care if you don't like them, They don't care if you call them pest. Because, unlike humans, insects and other creatures already know their purpose, which is to make a balance in the ecosystem. Humans are the end user, so the tendency is, we feel superior. But if you think like a cockroach, that you live to serve for small role, you can live for a big purpose.

They can easily adjust and adapt with the environment, the reason why they are not extinct. Everyday, you have to adjust and adapt, how to deal with people, how to accept change, how to do things positively. If you know how to adjust and adapt, gradually you'll learn how to find your purpose. For me, learning is a process, it doesn't need to be immediate because like cockroaches in order to be an adult, you have to molt hundred times. Ka-iskolar If you'll be a pest what would it be and why? I wanna know your answer, kindly drop it below. Gracias!

How I Handle Rejection?

I was crying yesterday morning in the bus going home. I knew when i ended the conversation with the interviewer i didn't get through for the program. Before having the interview, i knew i'm not yet ready for another one but my trainer believed in me - so i have to believed in myself as well. She instructed me not to get nervous because my nervousness is too obvious throughout the conversation. She is one of those people i really like having conversation with, even though i had an opportunity to talk in very short period of time, i'm comfortable. I don't know maybe because she looked someone i knew back in college.

I encountered rejection for multiple times, consecutive and occasionally. High school, College, Work Application, even at Home. For me, rejection is equal with failure because it feels the same, the emotion and frustration that i feel. When i got home, i hugged my mom and said i failed again. I felt ease when she said, it's ok. I knew it wouldn't be easy because i'm a fresh graduate looking for a place to work. I knew how difficult to fit in with the crowd when you know you are not good in fitting in but why do i continue? because life is an endless journey, not a puzzle when a piece is missing you'll stop, life is an endless story that you should write spontaneously.

When you feel rejected, take a deep breath and smile just to remove the heaviness of emotion. Its ok to cry, its ok to feel sad because we are humans but never stop in finding out how to improve ourselves. When i felt rejected, i reviewed the things that i've done then try to avoid not to do it again. I buy something that i really like to try or food that might fill in my stomach (manage your food when stress). I do some sketches and draw something from out of nowhere, scroll down funny videos or photos to ease out those feelings of rejection.

We are lucky to see ourselves learning from those things because not all people were able to do that, yes i cried heavily in the bus like a kid then i have to move on and start over again. I knew i only have one chance left to prove myself in the company, i have to be brave - i'm grateful i started my career with them, people who are compassionate to assist people. You ka-iskolar how do you handle stress? if you have any idea or comment kindly drop it below. Gracias!

Study Strategies for College Students

When i was in college or even in High school, i study because i want to learn something or i want to know something new, in short i don't pushed myself. The tendency of pushing yourself to study is, you won't absorb anything and i believed that learning is a process, it can't be done with a snap. To be honest, school for me is a boring place, i prefer to stay in a library. At first i found difficulty in listening in class because different things are running inside my head, you might encountering me staring at the window or dumb-founded but then i encounter a professor in college that taught me to listen more than to hear his lesson. He preferred to have an interaction and exchange of ideas. There are hundred of strategies for you to learn, and it's up to you how to find it and what will work effectively.

So here is my tips for those who are currently finding difficulties in studying:

1. First, find what type of learner are you. Finding out what kind of learner are you would make you more aware about your capacities to absorb ideas. I'm mixed of auditory and kinesthetic learner, i learned that i'm more sensitive in sounds (fine, not so sensitive) and learned to do it by how my professor did it. Because through doing it by my own, i found it easier to remember and to learn, but of course it depends upon the subject.

Scientists and psychologists have developed a number of different models to understand the different ways that people learn best. One popular theory, the VARK model, identifies four primary types of learners: visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic. Each learning type responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will remember information best after reciting it back to the presenter, while kinesthetic learners will jump at the chance to participate in a hands-on activity.

2. Be proactive, instead of passive reactive person inside the classroom. I encountered classmates like this. They tend to react to much quietly because they can't understand the classes. Yeah reacting underneath the class, is ok - but always approach someone who can lead you in the right track. Learning how to be proactive opens a lot opportunity for you to grow like you are able to learn how to speak in front of the class and learn to unfold your potential how to mingle with other. Participate in the class discussion whenever possible. Ask open ended questions. Join the discussion. The point here is that if you are involved in the class discussions you will be paying attention to what the instructor and others are talking about.

3. Study with a group or partner, Study groups usually meet before big tests, but many PUP students have realized how helpful it is to help one another throughout the school year. You can exchange notes, quiz each other, and most importantly, hold each other responsible for showing up to each session. Yeah, my friend Andrea served as my motivator in all my school activities and endeavor when we got in our third year. She served as my partner in crime, doing recital, reminding about homework or doing assignments.

4. Exercise to release stress, Instead of succumbing to anxiety or pressure until studying seems impossible, find a productive outlet to express your frustration. Physical activity releases endorphins that reduce stress and depression, and it's completely free.

5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, Sooner or later everyone runs into a course that they just struggle with. The material seems too far over their head, the math is too advanced, the instructor is too hard, whatever the reason; most people struggle with one or more classes sometime in their academic career.  Don’t let the frustration, anger or fear of failure stop you from getting help.  Seek out your instructor and ask for some one on one time.  If they can’t or won’t give it to you, ask if there are any school sponsored tutor programs, organized study groups or other resources that might help.  Chances are help is within reach if you simply ask for it!

Don't be afraid to reach out to tutors, professors, and classmates if you think you're falling behind. Whether you have trouble understanding a new concept or just need help managing your time, college is full of people who know exactly what you're going through. College is different from high school, you struggle because of the new environment and the possibility that you are not sure about your course. Be calm, because what you feel is actually natural - maybe everyone gone through that, asking about what their life would be in college or senior high school.

Preparation for an Impromptu Speech

Impromptu speaking is a speech and debate individual event that involves a five to eight minute speech with a characteristically short preparation time of one to seven minutes. Not all people were able to speak in front of many people, maybe they are scared to get bash, to be criticize, to fail, to utterly not say anything but to be honest, impromptu speaking is already your daily routine. When people ask you something regarding direction, when people ask for an introduction from you or as simple as giving recipe to your mom, you already doing impromptu speaking but why is it difficult for us to have an impromptu speech, because we are scared to (insert your own answer).

Here are simple trick to fake your confidence in front of the crowd:

1. First find the person you are very comfortable with.
I knew you already made some friends before having you speech or someone that really support you all the way. Find her/him in the crowd but not too obvious. Before contacting with him/her take a deep breath and start building your confidence with him/her. This make you more cozy in front of the crowd, imagine that you are going to have your conversation with your friend.

2. Try to smile and make eye contact with him/her
Then try to smile or make yourself agreeable and feel homely. Making eye contact is difficult but if you know someone, i think it is easier to convince yourself that you are not in front many other people. Smile is an encouraging asset not only for yourself but for others as well.

3. Continue speaking like you are having conversation
While having speech (see "the structure" below) try to make yourself open for a conversation, don't make yourself tense, don't make yourself too fast, enough to breathe like you're having conversation with your friends or just making small talk.

4. Then try to convince other.
And lastly, this might be difficult for newbies but aside for one person conversation you have to make assurance that people in front of you get what you said. You have to encourage them that your point is valuable and interesting to listen. Try to turn your head from right to left then stop to where your friend is. Fake your eye contact with most of them, just purely like you are turning you head slowly then stop then make some nodding like you are making agreeable statement. Don't forget to thank you at the end of the speech.

The structure of the speech depends to you, but this is my structure and the most easiest for me to create my speech.

1. Introduction spiel
Most of the time, i greet the audience or people who are in front of me. But at that point, i'm fixing my structure to be clear. Most of Impromptu speech, you are given a 10 - 30 seconds preparation so having introduction spiel, you can re-arrange and get clear thoughts.

2. Point
Give your opinion, this is the point where you affirm or disagree with the topic. You don't have to get scared about what might other to say because it is your opinion. Just be clear, that when you agree or disagree you are firm to what you said, no change of thought at the conclusion for the audience not to get confuse.

3. Reason
Give your reason, answer them by "because i believe". Your reason varies at some point but give at least 2 or 3 points why did you agree or disagree with the topic. At this point, you are encouraging the audience or your friend that my point is firm to believe with.

4. Example
Give 1 or 2 example from your reasons, its either from your experience or just purely imagination. This make your speech more agreeable and convincing.

5. Conclusion
Get back to your point then give your first reason. Say thank you at the end of your speech. This make you more confident and agreeable. Conclusion is your wrapping up point where you have to be firm to what you said, just make sure that no sudden change of thought to avoid confusion for the audience.

Impromptu speeches are very scary, i honestly don't like doing speeches but i learned that through speaking whether with crowd or with individual, it almost the same because at the end you are the one responsible with what you said. Be confident and believe to your potential, speaking in front many people can be learned just be open with the possibilities.

6 Facts About Graduation That'll Keep You Up at Night

It's been 3 days already after my graduation and still, i can't go of it. I know i have to move on and go with my unemployment life but the disparity i have right now holds me. I was wondering is it just me or is anybody else experience this as well. The eagerness to find a job before graduation is totally different right now after the ceremony. The feeling of need to look for a company vanished, maybe because my parents told me not to frustrate myself or maybe the eagerness to find job before graduation is brought by envy i have from my classmates, who already found their companies before the ceremony.

This is my 6 Facts about Graduation i experienced:

1. The feeling of "Yes! Tapos na!" is nostalgic
From all the odds and challenges brought by college, i think shouting and throwing your graduation cap is necessary. The experience, learning and stories brought together by the institution is just a piece of your journey but your attitude to surpass all the challenges is actually the main point. While saying all your promises to yourself after the ceremony everything you've done flashed back from the moment of collecting all your requirements before entering college up until preparing from the final march. The feeling of an ending is bittersweet, as what my friend @Gjorj said. Maybe because we shared stories and experiences along the road, the journey of preparing for linggo ng wika, practices at pacita for cheering competition, doing some research papers and typing all the details regarding the seminar, chatting and walking along the road going home or just as simple as kumain ng kikiam at tinapay sa may bakery. The feeling for me is unavoidable, i know you experienced it as well.

2. Walking with your Toga brought so many memories
Like the first one it is kinda nostalgic but wearing your toga while your hood is on your right arm and walking on the red carpet looking at the stage is like uplifting yourself saying "I'm a degree holder". I'm fortunate that my parents were able to send me in college, the experience of walking wearing your black graduation gown is priceless - telling to yourself that you are able to go this far, that everything you've done is paid off.

3. Seeing your parents proud is priceless
I was looking at my parents, staring at their reactions and making them feel that the ceremony is for them. The most expensive part of the ceremony is making your parents proud. Yeah, they do have gifts but at the end of the day seeing your parents smiling at you with teary eyes is more priceless than everything they gave to you. Parents are the protagonist of the ceremony, maybe they are not the one receiving the diploma but the diplomas and medals are made for their undying love for us.

4. Self-deprecating little voice keep on bothering you at night
The night after the ceremony, someone is asking you "oh anong plano mo, si ganyan may trabaho na sa ganito, si ganito may trabaho na sa ganyan, anong plano mo?" someone keep on deprecating you, wondering your classmate that nearly as dedicated as you or who are not-nearly as strong as you seem to do better than you in finding job. The person telling you that, is making a game. Testing your inner strength, resiliency, creativity and optimism. That person is actually you, yourself making constant negative thoughts of what lies ahead after this. You have to understand that people like us do have different time zones, maybe companies doesn't call you this week but be optimistic that they are just waiting for the right time or as simple you deserve something better. as what i read reprogram yourself, look for happiness and make it your priority secondly do have some new routine of discipline for the reprogramming.

5. You keep on searching on the net but everything is blank
After the day of the ceremony, i experienced the random search online syndrome. Looking for job, surfing the news feed, stalking someone, looking at the photos, reading random stuff, click a video on youtube then at the middle i turned it off. I'm in the feeling of where to go, what to search and what i need. All things are blank, the feeling of after highschool graduation then i come to realize, maybe i have to go and write something new. The feeling is still their but i'm looking forward and holding to what i want.

6. The beginning starts with you not with the ceremony
We keep on posting that this is just the beginning after the ceremony but to be honest whether you succeed to walk along with the graduates and still you don't know where to go, it is not the beginning. For me, the starting line always starts with you, maybe the event remind us that all the things we've gone through ends here but the beginning of accepting that your academic journey already ended starts by accepting that you are now entering in another world.

I know the disparity of removing your title as a student because right now i felt that being student is the only excuse we could have to tell the society not to bother us with adult stuff but the institution taught us to be prepared for this moment and gave us the experience that being a student is one of most cherished moments we could have through out our career and in life. #Gracias #IskolarAko

Three Ways to be Productive

Hey there, World! Gjorj here. :)

Do you have a project that's due soon and you are not done yet? Does your homework pile up because you don't know where to start? Well maybe I can help you with these three tips that helped me get things done and be productive.

1. Make a time table of tasks. For me this helps me organize my tasks and which task should be done first. When I was a senior in high school, I had projects that were piling up and they were due in a week. I was getting stressed so I took a piece of paper, drew a table or a calendar and wrote in my deadlines and tasks that I should do before the deadline. I have to say, it really helped me get things done and I was able to pass my projects on time.

2. Work with music. Another way to get you productive is listening to music while working. I read that listening to music increases productivity and it reduces tension and feeling that the deadline is near. Whenever I do a group project with my classmates, one of them will say, "Pa-soundtrip naman dyan." Meaning can somebody play some music? And they always play music whenever we work. It helps for some people but for others it doesn't because it distracts them. Well, maybe with the right playlist, you can be productive. Besides, work is boring if there's no music to keep you going.

3. Work with your friends. Lastly is why not work with your friends? In college, this is quite common especially if you do thesis, feasibility study, or doing a major project. Working with friends is fun especially if they are your groupmates, but it can be quite disadvantageous if you see them do nothing or do something else. But on the bright side, you get to bond with them and help each other with ideas and correct each other and give each other opinions. As long that chatting won't get in the way of your work you can get things done in no time.

All of the three tips above are based on my experience and it proves that those three helped me survive college. I hope it helps you survive your college life too.

I hope you enjoyed reading, and I'll write again soon. :)

Feasibility Study: A must for a Business Student

"Have you ever tried to hire someone for an outsourced cleaning service?" This is my first statement, asking my professor regarding about our study. Doing a feasibility study is not easy but finishing it, is refreshing of why did i chose business as my course. Learning through out the unexpected events helped me to pushed through, like doing activities outside the school and making extra curricular activities. I might not be academically inclined person inside the classroom but the institution taught me to be obedient and kind, i look differently in the situation and most importantly the school encourage me to be an optimistic.

Around second week of July when we meet our professor (who used to be our director and professor from other minor subject) and gave us instruction of what business idea is inside our head. Well, i want to have a graphic studio, a mobile cleaning service and a nerd cafe. I chose those ideas because those are businesses that i'm seeing myself in the future. Then after, our professor decided to pick one out of our three idea from 37 students, so currently there are 111 ideas in her hand (amazing!) so she picked some ideas that she is interested into, regardless if its viable or not. Luckily, my mobile cleaning service caught her attention and i became the team leader.

For the first meeting of the team, i delegated the work. I told them to research about information abroad and locally regarding the cleaning service industry. Why? I wanna know if the cleaning service industry is growing sustain-ably, making it marketable and viable locally and abroad. It is difficult to make a marketing study, first as a team leader i failed to make follow ups for the information needed, they become dependent for my instruction, task that are intended for them to expand what they have learned through out our academic program. I want them to know more about what they have learned. Secondly, doing business proposal is not as easy as what other courses thought - it is associated with black coffee and coffee with cream, i have to make sure that the data we will use is usable and reliable. Lastly, changes happen every other time when we consult for the progress of our business idea in marketing study. It is difficult, because every changes do have a long lasting effect and minor details turned out to be monster when consultation happen again - having a domino effect, making the business idea like a puzzle with a missing piece.

What have i learned through out the feasibility study:

1. I learned to accept idea and accept rejection.
Even though most of the time, i do the feasibility study alone. I asked them to give idea to expand the business proposal. As a team leader you have to remind them hundred of times about their participation because we have to understand that all of us do have their own priorities and for my members feasibility is in the last portion of the list. No matter what is the reason of their excuses, i'm sure they do have an idea behind their mind and surely its quite tricky and unique, so i have to make sure it will be part of the marketing aspect. When they have an idea, i have to make sure that it is still aligned with the vision that i'm seeing as a team leader, i have to accept the idea. For the proposal, it is not as Lucky-Monday everyday, most of the time you always encounter rejection because they do have their own ideals toward your proposal, sometimes they are pushing what they knew and it is difficult to convince them because they do have their own criterion toward your idea but you have to be firm and strong.

2. I have to increase inner peace, Find your friends and ask for help.
I usually asked my friends like Mark and Andrea regarding the progress of the study, i asked for helpful tips and suggestions, constructive criticism and other reactions toward the study. Speaking with your friends give you inner peace - what you are doing is in track of making it good and asking for professional like your accounting & management professors making it to feel better. You have to learn that finding inner peace is not about people affirming your idea but about giving you guidance and assistance on making the framework in greater heights.

3. I learned to ask "why" and "how"
I learned that doing feasibility study is not just about making a business proposal. It should be anchored by why you need the business, why is it the business important and how can we make a change using that business. We have to learn that making a feasibility study is not just for completion but your professor is asking you to do a business that you can apply what you have learned through out the program. A business idea that you can make a relative framework of all the things that you gone through college. Yes we did feasibility when were first year college or even high school but your 4th year college feasibility study is different because what you typed and all the things you wrote is actually your college story as a business student.

Helpful tips:
You have to make sure that your business idea is what you are passionately about, i love meeting people and cleaning our house (so why not?) it is easier for you to wrap everything inside-out of the business. Maybe you'll gonna say "because you were the team leader, your idea was chosen" Yeah! that was my first ever opportunity that someone hitch my idea and i put myself into it but before i'm like you sitting and listening to what other says, yes i'm a member before and what have i learned "a leader is once a member that learned to speak." you have to step up.

Back to School Study tips

To be honest, i'm not yet ready for my classes haha. The same routine of discussion, the same routine of question and answer but it will be my last three academic months from my university and i have to fulfill my duties as a student. So you, ka-iskolar ready ka na ba? Here are things that you should consider before entering your classes again after a very long vacation like Christmas break or just regular summer vacation. So i was reading a lot of articles from internet and knowing what are the things to do before going back to Jurassic park haha

Here is my top 5 tips before going back in your respective classes supported by studypoints.com and Ms. Gabrielle Flank, i made it more minimalist for easy understanding about going back to school:

1. Open your notes, know your Course Syllabus
Knowing your academic schedule is so important for being successful in the course your taking. Professors will typical hand out your syllabus in class or post it online pero most of the time para kayong naglalaro ng hulaan kung anong course outline nyo, in the same manner hindi nasusunod ang mga ganyan sa mga professor natin, so you have to deal with it. If you have a course outline or syllabus ang swerte mo, I highly suggest keeping it in a safe and convenient place so you can frequently review. Knowing when you have papers and projects due is so important for passing the course and keeping up your grades. Having the syllabus will allow you to plan ahead and give yourself proper time to complete every assignment but if you don't have like me ask your professor, it will be much easier for you to know what to do.

2. Do not Procrastinate, Schedule time to complete your assignments
This is something that we have all been guilty of in the past and have learned the stressful repercussions. A habit is created in three weeks so if you study for every course your taking daily in 21 days that will be a new habit for you. Dedicating a little bit of time everyday to the courses you are taking is definitely going to positively impact your grades and make you a better student. Once you know all the assignments that you need to complete, determine their deadlines and estimate how long it will take to finish each one.  You can then prioritize your tasks and set a clear schedule for completing them!

3.  Learn What Type of Learner You Are
Everyone is individual and so is the way you learn ! There are three main types of learning styles which are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Knowing what type of leaner you are is going to help you be a better student and have better studying habits. When you are able to determine the type of learning style that is best for you, you will find better results when you are studying and it will result in higher test scores! I highly encourage you to do some research and determine the type of learner you are so you can personalize your studying.

4. Learn how to effectively communicate with your teachers, Find your Mentor
Your teachers are there to provide guidance and support.  You’ll find that most of your teachers are more than happy to provide additional instruction and extra help.  This also shows that you care about your academic performance. Your teachers want to see that you are interested in the class material and that you are driven to succeed. There’s a good chance that a portion of your grades will be based on your class participation. By effectively communicating with your teachers, you can help maintain and increase your class grades. Find you mentor and learn with his guidance.

5. Get Involved & Reward yourself
Getting involved with your school community is great because you can pursue your interest and meet peers who have the same and similar interest as you. Many studies have shown that students who are involved in sports and school activities are able to achieve higher GPA's. If you enjoy playing sports try out for the school team. If you are a musician or actor then join your school band or theater company and share your talent with your fellow peers. Join clubs that you are interested in and attend all the meetings. And reward yourself - Positive reinforcement is an amazing thing. When you have completed tasks, reward yourself in small ways. This can be anything from allowing yourself to take a 10 minute break to treating yourself to a movie or a tower of frappe after your defense. Chill ka lang. you have to enjoy your studies no matter what, learning with fun is the most fulfilling part as a student

7 useful Tips for Career Planning

Before you begin your career search, ask yourself a few questions. What do you want to do? What are you trying to do? What kind of job do you want? sa ganoong paraan alam mo kung saan at ano talaga ang gusto mo. Kahit ako di ko alam kung saan ako dadalhin ng hangin, but currently i'm preparing my portfolio to be more attractive for my potential employer.

Here is my 7 useful tips for our Career Planning:

1. Know what skills you enjoy using
Job-hunting requires going back to step one. Make a list of your abilities and acquired knowledge; this will assist in making career decisions. You should develop an understanding of yourself including values, interests, aptitudes, abilities, personal traits, and desired lifestyle, and become aware of the inter-relationship between you and your occupational choice.

2. Match your interests to career-related skills
To make a successful career choice, you must match your interests with the skills you want to offer. Try using a self-assessment test to help identify your aptitudes, personality, and interests. These tests allow you to determine your strengths and match them to career-building skills. For an instance Universum Career Test offers very useful examination.

3. Identify a career direction & Assess your career choices
I know how frustrating it is when the examination sounds "what? i didn't know that, how come i'm a software engineer?" Even if they offer a lot of answer in front of you; to be an entrepreneur, senior human resource staff, junior graphic designer or any, if you Don't want, its ok - for me, it is important that your willingness, expertise and values collide and mix very well, sa ganoong paraan mo malalaman na mahal at gusto mo yung ginagawa mo. Sa ganoong paraan, alam mong magtatagal ka; hindi pabara-bara or someone that smother time. Willingness surely is important.

4. Maximize your resources & Gain practical experience
While doing this things like preparing resume and portfolio, don't be afraid to add some more; like take online classes, webinars, actual forum, conference, seminars, make used all your resources as student. minsan ka lang maging student, maraming discount and opportunity outside school, igrab mo agad, don't hesitate - through interactive activities like those, you'll gain experience, expertise and you may able to add it to your profile and look more attractive to your potential employer.

Do not limit yourself to looking for new careers in growing industries. What is hot today is not always cool tomorrow, and there is usually strong competition in these areas. Let your research carry you into unexpected and unanticipated areas. You may be surprised at what you discover. Expand your horizon, make learning as your driving force and go outside your comfort zone. “Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” Yoda, Star Wars

5. Interview people whose occupations interest you, Discuss career choices with people you know
I usually ask my mom about what possible career that might suit to a kind like me, dati naiirita ako sa ganoon - na nagtatanong ako sa parents ko about possible route but eventually i realized, they are not the basis of my choices but my concrete frame to make those things to happen. Parents are willing listen and give advises - don't hesitate "Tay ok lang ba kung sa ganyan kumpanya ako magtratarabaho,? sa ganito ako magsisimula?" Why not, like what i said earlier whether you accept or reject their opinion, if you don't like it, stop and then go another way. Ask your Alumni about their current job, their realization after college, their hack tips for fresh graduates - it might be your hint to corporate world and additional preparation.

6. Prepare a career portfolio & resume
Create a very good portfolio, a portfolio that looks exactly like you. A detailed, simple, neat and organized information regarding about your self. Prepare a collection of work samples, a resume, recommendations, a list of references, transcripts, copies of applications, and other pertinent data.

7. Stay focus and Be Patient
After all of the researching, interviewing, exploring, and assessing you have completed, you should have a general idea of your likes and dislikes and a general idea of what you are good at. Now it is time to focus on the specific careers that maximize all of these areas and Be patient and be realistic. Do not expect a glamorous career to appear immediately. Use your common sense, listen to other people’s advice, be yourself in interviews, and do the necessary work to take you flying above your dreams.

Reinventing Yourself

I casually stares above and ask myself why is everything keeps on repeating, like i was playing in a carousel - the same place, in a rounded plate. I'm running but it turns out to be in the same place, I'm moving but i felt nothing is different. Then eventually i'm here, keep on finding myself re-inventing.

“You’re never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” ~C. S. Lewis

We found something everyday that we need to shift or do something to make some changes in ourselves yet we found ourselves dumbfounded. Change means reinvention, each time we shift to different phases in our lives, we shed to make difference. It is not easy, it is actually difficult as a teen turning into an adult to make a move into world that you have no actual idea but as for the real life, it has no turning back i have to go and continue.

Here are my five major tips in re-inventing yourself.

1. Know what you want.
I keep on finding myself, listening to what other wants me to be, i keep on tracking to the things that seems to be a disappointment for other but at the end ako ang talo, nakakapagod. Sundan at hanapin mo yung mga gusto mong gawin. Kagaya ko, i usually seek on design idea from pinterest or watch Ellen's Design Challenge to fit in what i really like - I'm into designs and i knew it, but seems my parents don't show sympathy toward my endeavor but its ok i took it as a challenge instead of hindrance - alam naman natin ang parents natin, susuportahan ka sa mga bagay na gusto nila pero yung mga bagay na ayaw nila eh tipong - "Stop son, I'm busy or pakainin mo na yung mga baboy at sabayan mo na rin ng linis ha" -.,- (seriously?)

2. Get clear on what you want and why.
I always ask myself, what i really like? aside of designing, I'm into science, entrepreneurship even though i'm an aspiring palang, astronomy, Business, Gaming, Web Development and everything. I'm a person with different faces and i found it hard to fill in the niche. So i ask you as well, What do you really want and Why? (mmm ... i'm meditating maybe later)

I love learning that's why i do have different platform. Learning is what drives me to do what i want, I read science book from botany to herpetology, I love listening to business ideas and get inspired from their stories, I do designing so i mixed my interest with blogging - so i mixed match the web templates and look for codes for such development and i love staring above sky, every night - i love stars and everything celestial above. It should be clear that it is not about your chosen field but what field makes your heart keep on throbbing, keep you alive - parang first love, parang si crush, parang nung una mo syang niyaya sa labas at manuod ng sine (lande! yieee)

3. Don’t feel the need to justify your move, you don't need to prove everything.
Way back when i was in high school, i used to fit in with the crowd - so i usually report everything what i'm doing "Ui, may bago akong nabasang manga na ganito, may bago akong nalarong game na ganyan". I found it tiring, nakakapagod na sumabay at laging may patunayan. If someone is curious about your why, tell him or her in simple and truthful terms. No one can argue with the facts. He or she may have opinions, but the five minutes he or she spends thinking about you is nothing like having to live your life 24 hours a day.

4. Find others.
Get in touch with a reinvention mentor or friend and someone who has transitioned from one thing to another. I read books written by the most productive people in their chosen field, i read articles about gearing up stories, I usually scan and browse for motivational quote to set my self again. I do have different groups and communities in Google+, Facebook and follow motivational mentor in twitter. Make use of it, to set up yourself, hindi yung stalk ka ng stalk ng kung sino sino, sayang sa mobile data.

5. Take action.
When you started to put up yourself, make an action, Stop murmuring and asking the same question. again and again, we are already done with asking and finding, the last part is moving. I never said it would be easy but you have to persevere and dedicate yourself of what you want to be. Go lang ng Go! huwag ka ng matakot, ok lang yung kakaiba, minsan lang mabuhay - gawin mong worth it ang reinvention mo.

Think - Plan - Do

According to Jean Friesewinkel "People tend to be better at one of the three, they have a dominant type which helps them for certain roles:Thinkers make the best leaders, Planners make the best managers and Doers make the best individual team contributors."

You need to be able to force yourself to be all three at the beginning, when you are your entire team. At tipong ikaw ang head, manager, supervisor at personnel mo sa sarili mong kumpanya (Martyr mode activate).

1. Know Your Milestones - The starting point for work is the project schedule. This is what tells you what you are working towards and when you have to achieve it by. If you know your milestones then you have a much better chance of sticking to them. Alamin mo kung saan ka pupunta at kung anong pupuntahan mo para sa ganoon clear saiyo kung anong maeencounter mo sa daan, kung anong mga struggle, judgment at kung ano ano pa all the way at kung anong magiging achievement mo afterwards.

2. Delegate - If you look at the list of things to do and realize that it is too big for you then it is time to get other people involved. A good, flexible project team is worth its weight in gold in helping take the load off your shoulders. You shouldn’t be afraid to let go and let others help out. Minsan masakit yung magshare ng work, ako kasi makasarili - territorial beast kumbaga, pero i learned that doing alone is not amusing - saiyo ang blame at hati hati kayo sa achievement. Ugh! but ang pinakamaganda about delegation is that you were able to share learning with your team and enbales you grow yourself passively.

3. Plan Ahead - How far ahead you need to plan probably depends on how complex the project is and how pushed you are for time. In terms of detailed planning I like to look a week ahead. I feel that if you try and plan further ahead than this you will need to build in a lot of contingency as unexpected situations are sure to arise in the meantime. You have to plan, if you want to win the game kahit konting construction lang ng kung anong gusto mong maging outcome, kung ano ang magiging output nyo, ano yung mga kakailanganin mo - kailangan time bounded para sa ganoon alam mo kung kailan at hanggang kailan mag ra-run ang project.

4. Use Your Tools - Planning your tasks on a piece of paper is fine but nowadays you will have a lot more modern tools available to you so you should use them. In your early days in the role you should take advantage and find out about all of the tools you can use so that you are comfortable with them by the time the moment comes to use them in earnest. Gamitin mo yung facebook mo para sa pagsave ng files, nauubusan ng idea? gamitin mo yung pinterest account mo para makanahap ng inspiration, gamitin ang phone para mas mapadali ang life - life is full of hacking tool, learn it yourself.

5. Identify Problems - One of the most important aspects of good planning is that you can find out what problems face you in the future. This means taking a bit of time to think about the tasks and wonder what problems it could entail. Doing this means that you can work out more accurately how long it might take you to resolve each one. Mahirap yung wala kang problem, pag wala kang problem - stop! think again, assess your day baka may naiwan kang assignment o trabaho - learn to identify problem and plan ahead to make comprehensive plans. Mas mabuti ng alam mo kesa nagpapakasaya ka yun pala at the end of the day iiyakan mo nalang.

6. Make it Part of Your Day - Personally I like to plan for the following day before I go home. I will have my list of weekly tasks which I can go through and amend. Anything which has become more or less urgent during the course of the day can be altered accordingly before I leave the office. This has two benefits. First of all, I don’t have any nagging doubts in my head as I go home; I know exactly what needs done tomorrow. Secondly, I can get off to a flying start the following day. Gawin mong parte sya every morning routine, kagaya ng akin - every morning i check my e-mails, social media accounts para sa ganoon wala akong nakakalimutan - after i drink coffee and do some stretching, i plan for the day and back to work.

7. Enjoy It - Maybe you hate planning but there is no real reason to feel like this. It is a part of the project manager role which can be reasonably enjoyable if you do it right. As I just mentioned, I like doing it at the end of the day and this gives me a chance to wind down for the last 5 or 10 minutes of the working day. Seeing your to-do list get shorter is also a great incentive for doing this the right way.

8. Clear Your Head - In order to plan effectively it is necessary to clear your head of some of the problems and issues which are swirling around in it. This might mean going to a quiet part of the office or waiting until everyone else has gone home. I have always found the staff restaurant a good place to go and plan when it is empty. Pag di mo alam ang gagawin mo, Stop! Take a deep breathe and learn to go with your flaws - clear your mind as if nagmemeditate ka, hanap ka ng place, take a fresh air and then find your an inspiration.

9. Prioritize - It is easy to look at the list of things to do and cherry pick the easy ones first. This isn’t a great long term approach. You need to be honest and choose the ones which are most urgent regardless of whether you want to do them or not. They will need done at some point so it might as well be now rather than when they become really urgent.

10. Know Your Limits - There is no point in planning to do 20 hours worth of work in a single day. You need to know your limit and not try to take on more than you can do. If you load your day with too much work the only thing that will happen is that you perform to a poor standard on all of the tasks. Kailangan mo din bigyan ang sarili ng details ng kung ano lang ang kaya mo, kagaya ng sinabi ko wag mong ipressure at istress ang sarili mo sa mga gawaing plinano natin, pero it doesn't mean na gagawin mo na itong dahilan, all you have to know is kung hanggang saan lang ang kaya mo para sa ganoon maganda ang allotment ng energy, time at effort para sa optimum level of satisfaction (ano daw?)

Thinking Creatively

Sometimes i end up dumbfounded, honestly sometimes nothing running inside my head and most of the time - absurd stuff is making inside of my mind. Here is my eight necessary tool to make your thinking strong, supported by Study Guides & Strategies:
Re-think:
Look at a challenge in new or unusual ways. It is actually challenging when you felt that problem is quite cornering you, as if you are running out breath to make it through but the most anticipated part of it, is when you find out "How".

What if tignan mo ang sarili mo bilang business man. If you thoroughly believes into it - it eventually drives you to think double to make it happen.

Visualize:
Picture your problem and its solutions. Map it!

Produce:
Don't be lazy! Get busy!

Combine:
Make new combinations-- in considering options, put them all on the table to find grains of truth or possibility. Then refine!

Form relationships
Make connections--similar to mapping but adding text as to why concepts connect.

Isa isip mo kung magiging masaya ka ba or not.

Think in opposites
Often extremes present middle ground where solutions lie.

Fail:
Learn from experience: think as if you have eliminated a solution toward finding one that does.

Practice patience
Outlast the challenge! It is actually alright to find out you are out of piece to back fight from a chess, as long as your king is surviving, keep-on striving.

Effective Study Habits

Most students find it hard to focus on studies because they don't rationalize the benefit of being organize in many ways. I'm not a well rounded academic student but i really love learning, as much as possible i have to learn one simple thing everyday.

Take responsibility for yourself, Recognize that in order to succeed you need to make decisions about your priorities, your time, and your resources. Hello! Learn to appreciate everything that supports your study, gawin mong inspirasyon yun para maidrive ang sarili sa pagaaral.

Center yourself around your values and principles. Don't let friends and acquaintances dictate what you consider important.

Put first things first. Follow up on the priorities you have set for yourself, and don't let others, or other interests, distract you from your goals.

Discover your key productivity periods and places, Morning, afternoon, or evening? Find spaces where you can be the most focused and productive. Prioritize these for your most difficult study challenges. Sa akin kasi, nakakapagsulat ako pag umaga, yung tipong (a whole new world ♫ ♪ ♫) pero nasasaiyo din yan kung saan ang pinaka energetic mong oras, as long as hindi ka napipilitan at naieenjoy mo lahat ng nababasa mo - masama yung pinipilit, masakit sa mata - masakit sa ulo.

Consider yourself in a win-win situation, When you contribute your best to a class, you, your fellow students, and even your teacher will benefit. Your grade can then be one additional check on your performance.

First understand others, then attempt to be understood, When you have an issue with an instructor (a questionable grade, an assignment deadline, etc.) put yourself in the instructor's place. Now ask yourself how you can best make your argument given his/her situation.

Look for better solutions to problems, For example, if you don't understand the course material, don't just re-read it. Try something else! Consult with the professor, a tutor, an academic advisor, a classmate, a study group, or your school's study skills center.

Continually Challenge your self.
