A Little Peek for 2017 Super Hero Movies

There’s no denying that the most popular genre around these days is the superhero movie. I'm one of those nerds who really fascinated with their super power and hidden identity. I'm just wondering how ordinary people live because every other day, new hideous villain sprout from no where and started to mock everyone. I grew up with this kind of movies, i remembered i cried annoyingly just to get that original Spiderman CD featuring Tobey Maguire. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive guide of superhero movie release dates for every major comic book adaptation way up next year.

Suicide Squad

Release Date: August 5, 2016
The DC comic revolves around a group of anti-heroes who take on dangerous missions for the government in exchange for commuted sentences.  Smith is Deadshot, Robbie is Harley Quinn, Leto is The Joker, Courtney is Captain Boomerang, Kinnaman is Rick Flagg, Delevingne is Enchantress, and Davis plays Amanda Waller, who is essentially DC’s Nick Fury. This is Warner Bros.’ first non-Superman film in its new DC Movie Universe, and Ayer appears to be striking a much darker yet playful tone judging by the film’s terrific trailer.

Doctor Strange

Release Date: November 4, 2016
Marvel initially courted Joaquin Phoenix for the lead role in this new franchise, but as the time came to finally sign the contract Phoenix opted to walk away.  Cumberbatch eventually signed on, to be joined by Swinton as eventual mentor The Ancient One and Ejiofor as the villainous Baron Mordo. The comic adaptation will bring mysticism into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (described as Marvel’s Fantasia) as it tells the origin story of Stephen Strange, a former neurosurgeon and narcissist who is granted magical powers by a hermit called the Ancient One after his hands are seemingly irreparably damaged in a car accident.

Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Release Date: May 5, 2017
Not much as the film is firmly under wraps, but Gunn has previously said that Thanos may or may not appear, but he is most certainly “not the most important character”. The main crux of the story will involve the parentage of Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, with the iconic Kurt Russell filling the mysterious role of Peter’s birth father.

Wonder Woman

Release Date: June 2, 2017
Gadot made her first appearance as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will appear in Justice League Part One and Justice League Part Two, but not before she gets her own standalone film, and a World War I one at that.  This marks the first female-led superhero movie of the modern era, and it will fittingly be directed by a woman. However, while Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones veteran Michelle MacLaren was previously attached to direct, she departed over creative differences and Warner Bros. subsequently enlisted Monster helmer Jenkins, who herself was previously attached to Marvel’s Thor 2. Cast-wise, Pine is onboard to play Wonder Woman’s love interest Steve Trevor in what will hopefully be some fun gender reversal.

Spiderman: Homecoming

Release Date: July 7, 2017
Few thought it would ever happen, but Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios came to an agreement in which they will be sharing the character of Spider-Man, with the webslinger first appearing in an MCU movie (Civil War) before getting his own rebooted film. Marvel’s Kevin Feige is producing the picture, which is said to bring forth a younger Spidey who is still in high school. The Cabin in the Woods co-writer/director Drew Goddard was first rumored to take the helm, but Marvel eventually settled on Cop Car helmer Watts with Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Vacation) writing the script. Michael Keaton is eyed to play the film’s villain, rumored to be Vulture, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark will further his relationship with the young webslinger after first appearing together in Captain America: Civil War. And no, there will not be another origin story.

Thor: Ragnarok

Release Date: November 3, 2017
The title most likely refers to the event from Nordic mythology in which catastrophic destruction comes to Asgard, submerging the entire world underwater and killing nearly every god.  Or it could also refer to a cloned version of Thor that Tony Stark creates after Thor is presumed killed during the Ragnarok event.  Either way, Marvel says the “Norse End of Days” is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the studio plans to have filming underway by June 2016. They’ve tapped What We Do in the Shadows director Taika Waititi to take the helm, making for a very curious hire given his background in comedy. Cate Blanchett will be leading the villain charge as Hela, Tessa Thompson is Valkyrie, and Karl Urban is the villainous muscle Skurge, while the MCU is about to get a lot weirder with Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, one of the Elders of the Universe.

Pokemon Go! Road to be a Pokemon Master

When i was a child i used to watch Pokemon and ask to have one in reality. As i grow older, i realized that our world is not yet ready for that kind of request - Genetically advanced Animal Battle, i think Philippines Animal Welfare Society will do have a protest about it.

Nintendo and developer Niantic Labs last Wednesday, July 6, released Pokemon Go, the first Pokemon augmented reality mobile game for Android and iOS. Fans have been patiently waiting for the game since it was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo last June, that the game would come out in July. It likely came as a surprise to avid Pokemon fans that the app was launched in selected areas, because Nintendo and The Pokemon Company kept quiet about the official release date of the game despite ending beta testing on June 30.

Pokemon Go uses your smartphone’s camera, sensors and GPS to be able to place the titular Pokemon into the real world. When you travel to different places, different places, various Pokemon will appear and can be battled or caught. Users can pick the name and starting clothes of their character. The first Pokemon they get will be shown in the world map and all you need to do is to touch the Pokemon to attempt to catch it.

Players can also purchase virtual Pokecoins with real money to buy Pokeballs, incense, eggs, and more. The micro transactions range from $0.99 to $99.99.

It is common for gaming companies to do “soft launches” in selected countries before deploying the app worldwide. US and Japan users were asked to “please wait for a while” for the app’s launch in those markets, according to The Wall Street Journal. Eager fans are also finding alternative methods to download the Pokemon Go app on their iPhones or Android devices, from side loading the program on Android to changing their location settings on iTunes just for the download.

Well as of now, we have to wait till the release and actual launch here in our country. For those who are too excited to be pokemon masters and trainer, always remember: "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."- Mewtwo

Manila Major: Catalyst for Philippines EGames Industry

Gaming Industry here in our country is keep on growing. From ESL One Manila up until Manila Major, events that showed how colorful and hospitable our country. Events that proved that Philippines has a name in this industry. Video and Computer games is an emerging industry not only in our country but for the rest of the world.

ESL One Manila conducted their pre-event press conference last year April 21 at the Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams in Paranaque City. Ulrich Schulz, Electronic Sports League (ESL)’s Vice President for Gaming said "The Philippines as a country is excited about eSports and an excellent venue for eSports events." ESL One Manila is just the beginning of the Pinoy Dota 2 hype.

The Manila Major is the third event of Valve's Dota Major Championships. The main event takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The Manila Majors will have around $3 million (Php 140 million) prize pool and the event ran from June 7-12 at The Mall of Asia Arena, the same venue as ESL One. This will be the last major before the much-awaited "The International." This 12 team experienced our warm welcome, they experienced our hospitality, values and we showed our loved toward the industry.

Even though our Representatives didn't made it to the top, Philippines is a great avenue for Gaming Industry because we are cheerful and colorful people who knows how to be sociable whether online or offline. With the amount of support given by the fans and the mainstream media in the country, the Manila Majors might be a good time to prove that Philippines’ EGames Industry is now on track. You ka-iskolar, what can you say about the event? if you have an idea or comment kindly drop it below. Gracias!

Pocket Monster is going Online

When i was in grade school, i really envied my classmates bringing their Game Boy SP or Game Boy Advance because i don't have any, all i do have is the eye to watch how they play. But as i grew up i realized it is not what i don't have but things that i do have. In this digital age, everything is in the internet, I'm an avid fan of Pokemon or Pocket Monster, since grade school watching how ash never get old, how he get through his travel from each region and of course the team rocket.

While browsing the net, i found something very interesting, Pokemon Legends

You can sign up via your facebook account or just sign up manually if you want it to be personalized. While signing up, you are able to choose from Generation I (Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle) up until Generation VI (Chespin, Froakie and Fennekin) Pokemons. It is actually played the same how we play the original Pokemon in Game boy and the difference is, we are able to chat, make friends online and real time battle with them.

The map is quite huge, it is well diverse and made very organized. If you don't want to chat or see other avatars you can turn it off. You can also change your avatar and look for your pokemons as well. The game is very interesting, i remember how i download emulators just to play the game and now i do have an actual game of pokemon and I can explore its universe. I also played pokemon Deluge RPG but this game brings more excitement, maybe because Deluge RPG has limited maps and you can only see yourself moving. Anyway, I recommend this game for pokemon geeks like me. If you love the whole pokemon then this game is for you, all you need is a good browser, internet and good keyboard.

And if you want to know updates with the game you can visit their blog: blog.pokemonlegends.com What do you think guys? If you have something to share with us, kindly drop your comment below. Gracias.

Game Review: Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game

Have you experienced having lucid dreaming? or have you experienced to watch movie and somehow you want to be the protagonist of the story? yah i know, how frustrating to see yourself sitting in the chair at pinapanood lang yung character, maybe that's the reason why MMORPGs was born to make a satisfaction to play your fantasy based character; Roam the land, fight monster and to be able to learn more about the story, the land, Neutral Personnel, use & learn magic, create and make totally bad-ass items and weapon. Being in an RPG World is different of playing one-shot game, you have to live and make yourself into it. kailangan mong maramdaman yung transition mo mula sa pagiging sit-in player into an avid mmorpg player yung tipong ipinapasok ka sa mundong ikaw mismo namamangha!

Gameplay:

Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPGs) blend the genres of role-playing video games and massively multiplayer online games, potentially in the form of web browser-based games, in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a world. As in all RPGs, the player assume the role of a character (often in a fantasy world or science-fiction world) and takes control over many of that character's actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player online RPGs by the number of players able to interact together, and by the game's persistent world (usually hosted by the game's publisher), which continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game.

MMORPGs today use a wide range of business models, from free of charge (with microtransactions) or advertise funded to various kinds of payment plans. This list uses the following terms.

Free-to-play (F2P) means that there is no cost to purchase the software and there is no subscription charge. Variably applies to traditionally bought and forever available games (see Buy-to-play below). Almost all newer MMOs that fall under this category now includes heavy microtransactions however, which causes them to overlap with the Freemium model most of the time. ex. Wild Star OnlineTwelve SkyShin Megami Tensei: ImagineCabal Online and Dragon Nest SEA

Freemium means that the majority or all of the game's content is available for free but players can pay for extra content, added perks or faster advancement into the game via microtransactions. ex. Star Trek OnlineWizard101Rohan Online and Ran Online

Buy-to-play (B2P) means that the MMO can only be played by purchasing the game, but there is no subsequent subscription fee for playing the game. These games may or may not include additional microtransactions, or may sell additional content in the form of expansions instead of asking for an ongoing subscription fee. ex. Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade and Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues

Pay-to-play (P2P) means that the MMO requires a monthly subscription fee or other ongoing fee in order to continue playing the game. It may also require an up-front purchase of the game in addition to the monthly subscription fee, though many of these up-front purchases include a month of game time. This was once the most common way for MMOs to finance themselves, but has fallen out of favor in recent years as an increasing number of games have switched to other business models due to difficulty in retaining customers. ex. Star Wars Galaxy & Ragnarok Online (freemium or Pay-to-play; depends on the server)

What makes an MMORPG successful?
by Whitestripes09 of giantbomb.com

1. Content
It is important na maganda yung meaning ng game, its either science fiction or fantasy based. Malaki sa aming mga naglalaro yung satisfaction about sa content ng game, may values ba sya kaming matutunan or may skills ba kaming maacquire, hanggang saang level lang mag mamax. Maaring iilan lang ang may point of view nun pero para sa akin yung "content" ang pinaka importanteng rason why do player continue to play.

Content should be prepared and ready to launch at steady intervals in order to keep hardcore gamers that reach max level within a few days, playing . If there is not enough content to play then there is no justification to keep playing. When it comes to MMOs, if there is not enough content it makes the player feel that the monthly fee is not justified and can lead to unsubscribed members. It is an important factor in MMOs to have constant content through the game's lifespan at a somewhat regular cycle.

2. Immersion
This goes for every game out there. Developers should realize that what people want out of video games is to be entertained and whisked away from their seats into another world. In order for this to happen you have to fool the player into believing that they aren't really playing a piece of software that's rolling dice to calculate the next hit on their target. Everything from animations, story telling, textures and so on have to be familiar and somewhere in the realm of being believable. Kailangan dalhin mo kami sa mundo pinili naming puntahan o mundong gusto naming subukan.

3. Quality
A game has to have a quality standard. It should run at optimum levels that are smooth and guaranteed to almost run 24/7. Its understandable in an MMO to have maintenance periods. In fact, if anything its justifying that the monthly fee the player pays is being put to good work by keeping the game running and having it play the same way for long periods of time.

4. Interaction
Player interaction is the most important aspect of MMORPGs. It's what attracts people to play them in the first place. They're very few other genres of games that offer the type of interaction that MMORPGs provide. In order for a player to really feel like they're other people around, there should be evidence of other players in the world, such as player driven markets and places where they can congregate together. Of course, there should also be content that involves team work with other players and glorious PvP as well. However, it shouldn't feel forced and it should be easy to group up with other players. If I feel that I can't go through a certain area to pass through without another players help, then its considered forced.

However, if the initiative to collect better gear is there and the area is put aside so that I don't have to walk through it, then I would probably more than likely group with a gang full of people to clear out the area and get the nice piece of loot. Accidental interaction is the best way to do this. The developer should be clever with their game by having zones where players will more than likely meet up or even events that entice all players around to participate. It's like having a party almost. You have to give reason for people to socialize with each other. What makes me want to talk to this random person? Maybe I'm just drunk as hell or maybe that was the whole point of providing alcohol in the first place. It lightens people enough to interact with total strangers.

5. Fun factor
The game should of course be fun to play in the first place. The difficulty should feel just right, not too hard and not too easy. The player should feel he never has to question whether or not they're wasting their time playing and should feel that they should play more. A sense of reward and progression either through story or game mechanics should always be present.

Game Review: Multiplayer Online Battle Arena

The new generation chess game - but not literally with its mechanics but on how you perceive the game utakan ang laban, lakas ng loob, tibay at tyaga (ano yan campaign jingle?) The more creative you are in terms of strategy, the more challenging. You can be like Sun Tzu, leading the team and making an Art of war or be someone like Leonidas I. standing at battle of Thermopylae. It is also known as Action Real Time Strategy (ARTs) so, it is basically a creative and innovative way of gaming.

It was started way back 2003 with Warcraft: Defense of the Ancient created by ice frog i was eight way back then and here in the Philippines Defense of the Ancient (DOTA) made a huge hit. Eventually, several Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games started to sprout around the world from League of Legend in 2009 to launching of Heroes of the Storm by Blizzard Entertainment this year (2015).

Gameplay:
mobile MOBA Vainglory features a single lane
There are two opposing teams whose goal collectively as a team is generally to destroy their enemy's base to win, though some games have the option of different victory conditions. Typically, there is one main structure which must be destroyed to win, though destroying other structures within the opposing team's base may confer other benefits. Defensive structures are in place to prevent this, as well as relatively weak computer-controlled units which periodically spawn at each base and travel down predefined paths toward the opposing team's base. There are typically 3 "lanes" that are the main ways of getting from one base to another. There are also specific type of roles, the names of which vary from game to game (typically a damage role, a support role, and a tanking role).

DOTA 2 Heroes
A player controls a single powerful in-game unit generally called a 'hero'. When a hero stands near a killed enemy unit or kills an enemy unit, it gains experience points which allow the hero to level up. When a hero levels up, they have the ability to learn more powerful skills and abilities. When a hero dies, they have to wait a designated time, which generally increases as they level up, until they revive at their base.
Each player receives a small amount of gold per second from their base. Moderate amounts of gold are rewarded for killing hostile computer-controlled units and larger amounts are rewarded for killing enemy heroes. Gold is used by heroes to buy a variety of different items that range in price and impact. For the most part, this involves improving the combat viability of the hero, although there may be other items that support the hero or team as a whole in different ways.

As the heroes of each team get stronger, they can use multiple strategies to gain an advantage. These strategies can include securing objectives, killing enemy heroes and farming gold by killing A.I. units. The stronger a team gets, the more capable they are at destroying the enemy team and their base.

Members of the genre do not generally feature several other elements traditionally found in real-time strategy games, notably base management, and army building. Some video games have certain heroes which control a few specialized units. The RPG genre has a much closer resemblance to the gameplay, only limited to an arena.

Why MOBA games are very popular?

1. Most of them are Free-to-Play
From DOTA 2 of Valve to Sins of a Dark ages by Ironclad Games, i think being free-to-play made it popular, who doesn't want to have fun for free? Gaming is quite expensive, i mean expensive hobby for people like me - i usually play when i was young, i'm in eager to save money just to play Video games in arcade and eventually i realize, i have to be practical. I'm not against from people who save, invest and have fun paying for the games they play like Warhammer Online or World of Warcraft - as long as they are having fun, its ok. But the point is MOBA games triumph over other genre is because most of its games are free-to-play.

2. Group Game
It is group fight, you have to learn be with your team no matter what. It is very friendly in terms of increasing camaraderie among your barkada or with other people around the globe.

3. Skill is important
Like what i said earlier, it is a mind game - you have to make sure that you are in advantage from the opposing team like kung complete mo na yung item na binubuo mo or sapat pa ba yung mana mo for supporting the team? It is more of just a game, people and most of our parents doesn't know what are the skills we acquire while playing - akala nila pag naglalaro ka nito, masama ka na at kasama mo masasamang elemento ng lipunan? Playing like chess, backgammon (hindi ko alam kung paano to? haha) Monopoly or any other games, are brain enhancers, exercise and usually play with skills - the same with MOBA games, you have to think before you move, every touches and move do have a corresponding response. Play the game and make a rampage.

4. Motivating because it is recognized
Philippines recognize the e-sport industry, like Inquirer Philippines, a well-known newspaper company recognizes the potentiality of e-sports and we also do have Philippines E-Sport Organization and Philippine E-Sport Association (PesPA), that supports and promote professional electronic sports here in our country.

Sen. Bam Aquino Said: “In the Philippines, eSports needs to grow more. Admittedly it’s still a fringe interest, not mainstream. The more it becomes a mainstream activity like in Korea or the United States, where the eSports industry and the support to their players is really huge, the better, We are always lagging behind, so I think as the industry grows, being a pro player would be more fruitful.”

Gamers Don't Die, We Re-spawn!

I grew up playing video games, from Pac-Man to Super Mario, from Mortal Combat to Jin Kazama of Tekken. I grew up playing with the most fictional and fantasy based character that i admire a lot. I remember when my mom went home holding a piece of paper bag with a Play Station 1 inside, alam mo yung feeling na, eto na-eto na, bilang bata! speechless with teary eyes. I'm about 8 years old way back then but up until now, i remember how great it is.

From Warcraft III Reign of Chaos to Frozen Throne, StarCraft, Yuri's Revenge, Battle Realm, Ran Online, Ragnarok, Dragon Nest SEA, Cabal Online, Gun Bound, Rohan Online, Defense of the Ancient 2 and many more.

My Top 4 Life Lesson i learned from Computer Games:

1. Patience and Perseverance, Sipag at Tyaga.
When you play Pokemon, you'll understand why i said patience and perseverance. If you want to be a pokemon master you have to learn to be patient, after picking your starter pokemon you have to grow and fight someone along the road, You can have a cheat codes but it is more fulfilling, if you patiently wait and push your self to grow and learn. Pag naglaro ka ng Diablo, Ragnarok or any other MMORPG, you have to patiently wait or ulit ulitin ang task or quest para makagain ng EXP points.

(Onyok Tone from Probinsyano).

2. Forward Thinking, Strategy + Planning = Rampage!
Remember Plant vs Zombie or Angry Bird? Flappy Bird? you were able to know what to plan and what are the things to put in to make a good strategy, You were able to recognize the potential threat that might be a hinder for you to succeed. Yung ang O.A mo kasi super dismayado ka kasi nakain na yung halaman mo na haharang sana eh kaso wala na nagamit mo na yung lawn mower kasi dumaan na yung zombie o kaya hanggang eight ka lang sa flappy bird (i know how it feels). Sa mga Dota 1 & 2 player na kagaya ko, you know the feelings of paghihiganti pag na first blood ka o kaya napatay ka ni best friend, syempre magiisip ka na ng plan para maghiganti - medyo farm ng konti para makapagipon sa item na bubuin then when everything is set - gantihan mode na (Rampage!)

Sa life ganoon din, we are able to recognize potential threat and resources to create an opening for opportunity to come in. "Well Lina, fire versus laser beams, it's a timeless struggle." Tinker

3. Leadership and Socialization
In an Online MMORPG, you usually encounter leading a party group or joining in a guild. You were able to know your potential support for your party member, know their skills and guide them to grow while you are growing as well.

(Think of it, di ba?)

4. Mental and Creative Prowess
