Back to School Study tips

To be honest, i'm not yet ready for my classes haha. The same routine of discussion, the same routine of question and answer but it will be my last three academic months from my university and i have to fulfill my duties as a student. So you, ka-iskolar ready ka na ba? Here are things that you should consider before entering your classes again after a very long vacation like Christmas break or just regular summer vacation. So i was reading a lot of articles from internet and knowing what are the things to do before going back to Jurassic park haha

Here is my top 5 tips before going back in your respective classes supported by studypoints.com and Ms. Gabrielle Flank, i made it more minimalist for easy understanding about going back to school:

1. Open your notes, know your Course Syllabus
Knowing your academic schedule is so important for being successful in the course your taking. Professors will typical hand out your syllabus in class or post it online pero most of the time para kayong naglalaro ng hulaan kung anong course outline nyo, in the same manner hindi nasusunod ang mga ganyan sa mga professor natin, so you have to deal with it. If you have a course outline or syllabus ang swerte mo, I highly suggest keeping it in a safe and convenient place so you can frequently review. Knowing when you have papers and projects due is so important for passing the course and keeping up your grades. Having the syllabus will allow you to plan ahead and give yourself proper time to complete every assignment but if you don't have like me ask your professor, it will be much easier for you to know what to do.

2. Do not Procrastinate, Schedule time to complete your assignments
This is something that we have all been guilty of in the past and have learned the stressful repercussions. A habit is created in three weeks so if you study for every course your taking daily in 21 days that will be a new habit for you. Dedicating a little bit of time everyday to the courses you are taking is definitely going to positively impact your grades and make you a better student. Once you know all the assignments that you need to complete, determine their deadlines and estimate how long it will take to finish each one.  You can then prioritize your tasks and set a clear schedule for completing them!

3.  Learn What Type of Learner You Are
Everyone is individual and so is the way you learn ! There are three main types of learning styles which are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Knowing what type of leaner you are is going to help you be a better student and have better studying habits. When you are able to determine the type of learning style that is best for you, you will find better results when you are studying and it will result in higher test scores! I highly encourage you to do some research and determine the type of learner you are so you can personalize your studying.

4. Learn how to effectively communicate with your teachers, Find your Mentor
Your teachers are there to provide guidance and support.  You’ll find that most of your teachers are more than happy to provide additional instruction and extra help.  This also shows that you care about your academic performance. Your teachers want to see that you are interested in the class material and that you are driven to succeed. There’s a good chance that a portion of your grades will be based on your class participation. By effectively communicating with your teachers, you can help maintain and increase your class grades. Find you mentor and learn with his guidance.

5. Get Involved & Reward yourself
Getting involved with your school community is great because you can pursue your interest and meet peers who have the same and similar interest as you. Many studies have shown that students who are involved in sports and school activities are able to achieve higher GPA's. If you enjoy playing sports try out for the school team. If you are a musician or actor then join your school band or theater company and share your talent with your fellow peers. Join clubs that you are interested in and attend all the meetings. And reward yourself - Positive reinforcement is an amazing thing. When you have completed tasks, reward yourself in small ways. This can be anything from allowing yourself to take a 10 minute break to treating yourself to a movie or a tower of frappe after your defense. Chill ka lang. you have to enjoy your studies no matter what, learning with fun is the most fulfilling part as a student
