Manila Major: Catalyst for Philippines EGames Industry

Gaming Industry here in our country is keep on growing. From ESL One Manila up until Manila Major, events that showed how colorful and hospitable our country. Events that proved that Philippines has a name in this industry. Video and Computer games is an emerging industry not only in our country but for the rest of the world.

ESL One Manila conducted their pre-event press conference last year April 21 at the Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams in Paranaque City. Ulrich Schulz, Electronic Sports League (ESL)’s Vice President for Gaming said "The Philippines as a country is excited about eSports and an excellent venue for eSports events." ESL One Manila is just the beginning of the Pinoy Dota 2 hype.

The Manila Major is the third event of Valve's Dota Major Championships. The main event takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The Manila Majors will have around $3 million (Php 140 million) prize pool and the event ran from June 7-12 at The Mall of Asia Arena, the same venue as ESL One. This will be the last major before the much-awaited "The International." This 12 team experienced our warm welcome, they experienced our hospitality, values and we showed our loved toward the industry.

Even though our Representatives didn't made it to the top, Philippines is a great avenue for Gaming Industry because we are cheerful and colorful people who knows how to be sociable whether online or offline. With the amount of support given by the fans and the mainstream media in the country, the Manila Majors might be a good time to prove that Philippines’ EGames Industry is now on track.
