"Head of a Chicken or Tail of an Elephant" The discussion is full of details and i'm really amazed. I really like the ambiance and the infinite clause of knowledge from the participants. I wished my classmates appreciate it as well.
We went to University of the Philippines - Diliman, Quezon City to participate in an interdisciplinary study of the Asean Integration. We travel from Biñan to Manila full packed of fun and enjoyment, The seminar was started with Prof. JB Naval for his analysis entitled Ramification of Region, Ramification of People. On his study - he contextualize Asean's South East Asia Region, The concept of regional integration and Asian integration and the Societal Awareness and Knowledge of Asia.
One of the notes i found interesting is when he said that quantitative approach can't valuate how high is the value of a poem or how significant a short story. I realized that even numbers can't give a noble answer to valuate a historical relics here in Asia and even in the world. We can survey, give an opinion poll or ask several questions from several people and get a statistical view into it, but for what i believe numbers will always just be numbers.
If we wanna know about the true sense of being Asean Citizen, we can look into past and know more about the connections that overflowing within our region. Like what Prof. Naval told us: "Hindi Tayo watak watak sa paraang gusto nating maging buo, noon pa lang bahagi na tayo ng isang malaking kontinente - Pangea para masabing isa tayong buong pamilya" Quiet Tricky but it is actually true, if we remember the continental drift theory - being part of Pangea is significant detail to consider that being Asean is part of the growing history of the world.
Asean Integration - is making a relevant, meaningful and colorful experience through relevant, meaningful and colorful interaction. You can chat people from Laos or you like a photo from your friend in Thailand, you can give comment and suggestion from your friend in Singapore. The world is having a great evolution of communication - it is fast and easy but the most important part, it is relevant? is it meaningful? or how colorful you can give through through internet interaction.
We also meet Prof. Manuel Victor Sapitula, he gave talking points of Philippines toward the Asean Community. Dr. Virgilio Almario our National Artist for Literature he speaked for the Societal and Cultural diversification and protection of culture, literature here in asia and from the asean integration.
Dr. Peter Lee U and Dr. George N. Manzano talked about the Economic, Financial Growth, Business Implication, Macro and Micro impact of Asean Integration. It is privilege to meet Amb. Claro S. Cristobal and Amb. Kadatuan Usop talking about the Foreign relation and what are to look forward for the said integration.
As what i said it is full packed of fun and enjoyment going to the event, but it is full packed of knowledge, understanding and appreciation to call your self an Asean citizen. #APECSummit
